In a physical game on Friday night, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds fell 3-0 to Crystal Palace Baltimore. The game was played at CP Baltimore's home pitch, on the campus of the University of Maryland at Baltimore County (UMBC). CP Baltimore got an early goal, scoring in the 7th minute. Pittsburgh's Jason Kutney was taken down in the penalty area resulting in a PK by Jean Robens Jerome which was smothered by the Baltimore goalkeeper. CP Baltimore got its second goal in the 37th minute and took a 2-0 lead into intermission. Then, the home tearm picked up a third goal in the 89th minute to finish it off, and win 3-0. Pittsburgh falls to 0-2, while CP Baltimore was a winner in its season opener. The Riverhounds more on to Boyds to play Real Maryland at the beautiful Maryland Soccerplex on Saturday night.
