MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Player Academy is to stimulate player development by creating a challenging soccer environment. The Riverhounds Academy staff will utilize the systematic, age-appropriate methods of the Everton Football Club. This highly successful program will motivate players to progress to their fullest potential as a player. The Academy experience will generate a new level of enthusiasm and passion for the world’s most popular sport.

THE ACADEMY

The Academy is designed and patterned after the highly successful Everton Academy, which is part of Everton Football Club of the English Premier League. “The Everton Way” will provide many of the methods utilized by the Academy staff. Everton’s on-line program is based on the methods used by the Everton Academy coaches. The web site provides hundreds of video clips to reveal practices, drills and the entire philosophy used by Everton’s Academy coaches.

THE LOCATION

The Riverhounds Academy takes place at the home of the team: The Greentree SportsPlex. Located in the bubble, The Academy has an indoor facility that allows the coaching staff to monitor the progress of the players in a safe working environment. It is easily accessible and allows parents and coaches to watch first-hand the training methods implemented at the Academy.
