Danny Earls enters his fourth season with the Riverhounds. The midfielder has played for Pittsburgh since the 2014 campaign.
In 2016, Earls totaled 1,153 minutes and three assists in 13 appearances with the Hounds. During his 2015 campaign, he recorded three goals and three assists in 25 appearances. In his first season with Pittsburgh, the Wicklow, Ireland native tallied one goal and six assists in 27 matches.
During his four-season stint in Pittsburgh, Earls has made 65 appearances and scored four goals.
Prior to joining the Hounds, Earls played for USL Eastern Conference foe Rochester Rhinos in two separate stints, from 2012-2013 and 2008-09. In his four seasons playing for the Rhinos, he totaled 90 appearances and six goals. Earls was named team Most Valuable Player by Rochester after the completion of the 2013 season and earned the team Rookie of the Year award after the 2008 campaign.
In between his stints with Rochester, the midfielder played for MLS franchise Colorado Rapids from 2010-11. He made 22 total appearances with the squad and helped the Rapids win the 2010 MLS Cup.
Before he began his playing career in the United States, Earls played for the Republic of Ireland’s U-15, U-16, U-18 and U-19 National Teams. From 2005-08, he played for the Aston Villa FC reserve team and captained the squad to a league championship in 2008.
