Kutney Earns USL Week 12 Honors
For the third week in a row, a Riverhounds player has received USL Team of the Week Honors. Hounds midfielder Jason Kutney had an assist
in Pittsburgh’s 2-1 loss to Richmond, earning him the Week 12 honors. This comes after Ed Hayden made Team of the Week in Week 10, along with Nathan Salsi in Week 11.
The 28-year-old Kutney is a Riverhounds player as well as the CEO of the Greentree SportsPlex. He earned his first assist and point of the season in the match against Richmond, but he has had plenty of offensive opportunities throughout the season. Jason has played in all 11 Riverhounds games so far this season, logging 897 minutes and registering 14 shots – tied with Justin Evans for the most on the team.
Kutney received another award earlier this season when Ruffneck Soccer Scarves gave him their “Player of the Year” award for the 2008 season.
The USL named Mandjou Kieta of the USL-1 Portland Timbers, and Kickers forward Matthew Delicate, who had both goals in Richmond’s win over Pittsburgh, players of the week. To see the whole story and complete honors, visit the USL website.
Kutney and the rest of the Hounds play next on July 2nd and July 4th in Bermuda against the Hogges.
