Pittsburgh-The Pittsburgh Riverhounds return to Chartiers Valley Stadium this Sunday to open a three game home stand against the Rochester Rhinos. A long-time rival of the Riverhounds, the Rhinos will match up with the home side for a 3:00 PM kickoff on Father’s Day.
This weekend marks the mid-way point of the season for the USL PRO teams. With eight games being played over the next three days, movement up and down the league table is sure to occur.
The Riverhounds are looking at Sunday as the starting point of a new season and are focused to begin the “Tale of two Halves”. The Riverhounds spent seven out of the first eleven games on the road, seeing the Riverhounds earn five points in those contests. In their remaining thirteen games, the Riverhounds will play eight games in front of the Pittsburgh faithful and will wear the City’s undeniable colors, black and gold. Father’s Day will mark the official unveiling of the Riverhounds third kit.
On the opposite side of the pitch, the Rhinos have performed well throughout the first half of the season. Currently sitting second within the league standings, the Rhinos are looking to maintain form and contend with the league leaders in Orlando City.
With one team looking to transform their identity and the other team trying to keep their identity within the league, Sunday’s game should be exciting for players, coaches, and spectators who are all in attendance.
Tickets for Sunday’s game can be purchased by calling into the Riverhounds office at 412.539.1191 or at the ticket gates on game day.
