RIVERHOUNDS WIN 5-2 OVER ROBERT MORRIS IN PRESEASON SCRIMMAGE

PITTSBURGH, March 20- The Riverhounds defeated Robert Morris University on Thursday night at Highmark Stadium. 

The starting lineup included Greg Blum, Alfonso Motagalvan, Sterling Flunder, Andrew Marshall, Brian Fekete, Mike Green, Seth C'deBaca, Rob Vincent, Matt Dallman, Miro Cabrillo, and Jose Angulo. 

The Riverhounds and Colonials preseason match started off with a very fast game pace and remained scoreless for the 16 minutes of the game. Robert Morris converted a penalty kick in the 17th minute and took the lead over the Riverhounds, 1-0. 

The Riverhounds had multiple opportunites over the first half, but were unlucky in finding the back of the net. 

At halftime, the Colonials lead the Riverhounds 1-0. 

Quickly after the second half began, Jose Angulo tied up the game as he scored on the counter attack in the 50th minute with an assist from Rob Vincent. 

Robert Morris was quick to respond and added an additional goal in the 55th minute. 

The Riverhounds found their stride in the 60th minute as Miro Cabrillo headed Alfonso Motagalvan's cross into the goal to tie the game up again, 2-2. 

Jose Angulo put the Hounds on top as he added his second goal in the 65th minute with a cross from Dallman. Score 3-2. 

Ten minutes later in the 75th minute, Rob Vincent scored the fourth Riverhounds goal with a cross from Motagalvan bringing the score up to 4-2 over the Colonials. 

Finally in the 85th minute of the game, Jose Angulo found his hat trick from 35 yards out with a left footed strike into the top corner of the goal.

The Riverhounds defeated Robert Morris 5-2. 

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds continue their preseason at Highmark Stadium this Saturday, March 22 against Duquesne University at 7:00 PM. All preseason games are open to the public.
