PITTSBURGH (September 7, 2017) – The Pittsburgh Riverhounds (8-8-10) return home on a five-game unbeaten streak to face Louisville City FC (14-5-5) at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Highmark Stadium.
In the midst of their longest unbeaten streak of the season, the Hounds will look to go unbeaten in six straight for the first time since the 2013 squad staved off defeat for 10 consecutive matches.
Saturday’s match is the third and final meeting between Pittsburgh and Louisville. The Hounds’ conference foe has gotten the best of head-to-head competition so far this season, winning both matches by a combined score of 4-0. In seven matches all-time, Pittsburgh has defeated Louisville only once (1-4-2).
Louisville enters this weekend rolling with wins in four its past five matches played and holding the top spot in the Eastern Conference with two games in hand. The Derby City side has recorded incredible production out of its roster, as all but two players with minutes played this season – out of 17 players total – is without a goal scored.
Off the pitch, there will be plenty of activities to partake in, including, but not limited to, First Responders Night and the Allegheny Health Network “Health Series” continuing with Prostate Cancer Awareness Night.
Tickets to the match are still available and can be purchased by visiting Riverhounds.com. For fans unable to make the match, be sure to follow along live with USL Match Center and on Twitter at @PghRiverhounds.
