ASSISTANT COACH - JOHN ROTZ
John Rotz has managed different roles within the Riverhounds Organization since 2007. He began his career at the Riverhounds as a Summer Camp/Academy coach and his role progressed into the Director of Team and Tournament Operations in 2008. His involvement within the organization and passion for the game was recognized by Head Coach Evans and he was appointed Assistant Coach to the 1st team this past January. Before coming to the Riverhounds, Rotz coached for many soccer teams at all levels in Pittsburgh.
In 2005, Rotz spent a season as an asssitant for Carnegie Mellon University Women’s Soccer Team. From 2006-2009, he was an assistant for Quaker Valley’s Boys Varsity Soccer Team. From 2006-2009, he was head coach of the North United Soccer Club’s U-12 Boys Team. Rotz attended Shippensburg University where he majored in Mathematics Education and minored in coaching. He played for the Raiders from 1996-1999, receiving Regional All-American 2nd Team honors his senior year. He moved to Pittsburgh in 2004 to attend the University of Pittsburgh. While at Pitt he received a Master’s of Education, with a primary focus on Exercise Physiology.
