Game 2: Pittsburgh 1 - Richmond 1
Riverhounds Tie Kickers on the Road - Earn Second Point of the 2009 Season

Game 2 Summary:  Pittsburgh 1 - Richmond 1

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds spotted the Richmond Kickers a goal in the 36th minute of their road match in Richmond, but tied the game four minutes later.  After a scoreless second half, the sides settled for a 1-1 tie; each picking up a point in the United Soccer Leagues Second Division standings.

Joey Worthen, who spent a season with the Riverhounds when they were in the former A-League (now USL-1), got the Kickers on the scoreboard first.  Matthew Delicate was credited with the assist on a cross to Worthen.  But newly acquired Riverhounds midfielder Randolph Jerome, who was with Cleveland last season, scored unassisted on a rebound from point blank range in the 40th minute to make it a 1-1 match.

Richmond outshot the Hounds 12-5, including an 8-0 difference in the final 45 minutes.  However, Pittsburgh was playing a man down starting right after the half, when defender Chris Riley was given a red card and ejected.  The game was played in steamy hot 96 degree conditions before 2,887 fans at the University of Richmond Stadium.
