Opposition Report: Hartford – 4/13

Starting the season off on a five-game losing streak, Hartford Athletic (0-5-0) will be trying to win their first game of the season against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (1-1-2). This match will be the Hounds’ home opener, starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Highmark Stadium.

The Season So Far

The Athletic have struggled so far this season, and have yet to win a game in 2019. In its past two games, the club was held scoreless, losing last time out to the Tampa Bay Rowdies, 4-0, and prior to Indy Eleven, 1-0.

Players to Watch

Through five games this season, Hartford has two goals from two different players. In its game against the Charleston Battery, midfielder Philip Rasmussen scored with a right-footed shot, the first goal of the season for the team. Defender Sam de Wit scored a goal against Louisville City FC in the following game.


Passing: The Athletic have a 65.6 percent passing accuracy rate this season. Last time out against the Rowdies, the club posted 78 long passes to Tampa Bay’s 50 long passes.


Defending the net: Hartford has struggled on the defensive end, allowing 2.20 goals per game this season.
