Preseason: Week 1 Preview

PITTSBURGH (February 6, 2019) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will kick off its preseason schedule with a two-game slate this weekend, first battling Cleveland State University at 7 p.m. on Friday before clashing with Gannon University at 1 p.m. on Sunday – both matches taking place at Highmark Stadium.

All preseason games are free to attend for the public.

The Hounds opened preseason camp on Monday with 13 players under contract and an additional number of athletes on trial. Heading into its second season under head coach Bob Lilley, the squad returns 10 players from its 2018 roster, including All-League selections Joe Greenspan and Kenardo Forbes.

Cleveland State University completed its 2018 campaign with a 4-8-3 overall record. During his second year as head coach, the Kirk Harwat-led Vikings finished eighth of nine teams in the Horizon League of NCAA Division I.

Gannon University, led by head coach Dale White, logged a 10-6-2 overall record to complete its 2018 campaign. Competing in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division II level, the squad finished third place of 12 teams in its league.
