COLUMBUS, Ohio (Feb. 4, 2023) — The Hounds played the first competitive minutes of their preseason this afternoon with a visit to face the Columbus Crew of MLS at the OhioHealth Performance Center indoor bubble, located on the site of Historic Crew Stadium.
The first meeting between the two teams since the 2020 preseason gave the sides an opportunity to give their full rosters a workout by playing 120 minutes divided between four half-hour periods.
At the host’s request prior to the game, match and scoring details stayed behind closed doors for the scrimmage, but Hounds coach Bob Lilley shared his thoughts on his team’s performance in the locker room afterward.
The Hounds return to training Monday at AHN Montour and will play their first home match of the preseason on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. when they host Penn State at Highmark Stadium. Home preseason matches are open to the public and free of charge to attend.
