(April 2, 2026) — On the heels of a league win and back-to-back Open Cup wins on home turf, the Hounds will look to grab their second road win of the young season when they travel to face Indy Eleven this Saturday.
The match wraps up a busy stretch of matches for the Hounds with four in an 11-day span, but like the Hounds, Indy also played an Open Cup match Tuesday night, as they were knocked out 2-1 by visiting Union Omaha.
Albert Dikwa likely will lead the line again for the Hounds after bagging a pair of goals last Saturday against Jacksonville before being an unused substitute Tuesday in the Open Cup match. The Hounds also maintained their midfield rotation Tuesday — Bradley Sample did not play and Charles Ahl and Sam Bassett saw limited time off the bench — and center backs Owen Mikoy and Lasse Kelp each made pro debuts in the recent Open Cup matches to make use of the team’s depth.
Indy’s last league match was a disappointing result after a late own goal forced them to settle for a 2-2 draw at Hartford after leading 2-1. Former Hounds goalkeeper Eric Dick, the Most Valuable Player of the Hounds’ USL Championship Final victory last season, is likely to be in net for the Eleven, who also have former Hound Edward Kizza in their attacking group that is led by Bruno Rendon, who has a pair of goals on the young season.
The Hounds’ series with Indy has been one marked by close matches regardless of where the two sides sit in the standings. In 17 matches since the teams first met in 2018, the teams have played at least once every season, and 14 of the 17 matches have been settled by one goal or fewer. The Hounds have not won in Indianapolis on their last three trips, however, with two draws and a one-goal defeat last season.
Saturday’s match will air live on KDKA+ and be streamed on ESPN+, while our partners at Radio Las Palmas, 92.9 FM HD2 will be broadcasting in Spanish during the match.
