On Jan. 4-5, the Hounds hosted the first of two invitational combines for this offseason, bringing in a combination of college players, amateur standouts and out-of-contract professionals for a tryout at the AHN Montour indoor field.
Head coach Bob Lilley, assistant coach Dan Visser, goalkeepers coach Jon Busch and team captain Kenardo Forbes were among those present to observe and evaluate the more than 50 players who made the trip to Pittsburgh. From the group, some might earn contracts, while others will be invited to open preseason camp with the pro team on a trial basis.
Some of the best images from the two days of play can be seen above, while Lilley shared his thoughts on this year’s tryout group and discussed what happens next after the event finished.
