Opposition Report: Bethlehem - 8/12

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (11-3-7) will be traveling east to take on Bethlehem Steel FC (8-9-6). The match will kick off at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12 at Goodman Stadium. 

The season so far

Bethlehem finds itself looking up at the playoff race, as they sit one spot out of contention. At the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference, the Steel possess a record of 8-9-6 while racking up 30 points in 23 games played. Before kicking off against Riverhounds SC, Bethlehem will battle the Charlotte Independence on Wednesday.

Player to watch

Forward Santi Moar is the offensive catalyst for Steel FC, as he leads the team in assists (six) and shots (42) this season. Moar opened the floodgates against the Richmond Kickers this past weekend en route to Bethlehem’s 3-0 victory, scoring a goal on a team-high four shots. In his second year with the squad, Moar ramped up his scoring prowess, joining the 10-10 club for Steel FC.

Discipline: Conceding 306 fouls, Bethlehem Steel FC has the highest number of fouls in the Eastern Conference.

Defense: On the defensive end, Bethlehem has totaled only three clean sheets and has conceded 20 more goals than the Hounds.
