PITTSBURGH (April 30, 2026) — Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in partnership with ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages will turn F.N.B. Stadium in Station Square into one of the city’s premier destinations for soccer this summer, hosting free public watch parties for the United States group stage matches:

June 12 vs. Paraguay, 10 p.m.
Riveters Game at 6 p.m., Watch Party opens at 9 p.m.

Get geared up for the opening match for the U.S. with live women’s soccer action at F.N.B. PITTSBURGH (April 28, 2026) — Pittsburgh Riverhounds forward Trevor Amann was named to the Team of the Round for Round 1 after his two-goal performance to open group play in winning fashion the Prinx Tires USL Cup.

The Hounds defeated Greenville Triumph SC, 3-0, to go to the top of Group 6 after one game, and Amann played a big role with goals in the seventh and 63nd minutes. His first finish — redirecting a header across goal by Robbie Mertz into the net — opened the scoring before he provided the top highlight of the night when he finished with a diving header on the end of a Jackson Walti cross from the right side.

Amann’s night also included a pair of chances created, winning 6 of 13 aerial duels and winning possession four times. The striker also nearly picked up his first Hounds hat trick later in the match, only to have the offside flag wipe out what would have been his third of the night.

It is the first weekly honor for Amann since joining the Hounds prior to this season. The team will be back in action this Saturday, May 2 at F.N.B. Stadium, where they will host Phoenix Rising FC in a USL Championship match.

Home of the Hounds becomes F.N.B. Stadium

PITTSBURGH (April 22, 2026) — Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC announced today a new, multi-year stadium naming rights agreement with First National Bank, the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corporation, and the South Shore home of both the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Pittsburgh Riveters will now be known as F.N.B. Stadium.

As part of the new partnership, FNB is now the official bank of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and the official banking partner of F.N.B. Stadium. In-stadium signage, updates and improvements will reflect the partnership as the stadium enters a new stage with upcoming plans for renovation and expansion set to begin soon. Financial terms of the naming rights deal were not disclosed.

In line with FNB’s commitment to child and family wellness, the company will provide access to financial education through the Riverhounds Academy youth soccer development program.

“This is an exciting step forward for our organization and a reflection of the momentum around our club and our venue. Dikwa named Player of the Week

PITTSBURGH (April 21, 2026) — Pittsburgh Riverhounds striker Albert Dikwa has been named the USL Championship Player of the Week, presented by Konami eFootball, after his two-goal performance Saturday in a 2-1 win over Detroit City FC.

Dikwa scored both of the Hounds’ goals, finding the net in the second and 83rd minute for his second multi-goal performance of 2026. More than just a finisher, Dikwa had the most touches on the ball of any Hounds player with 46, won possession seven times, was credited with two chances created and played through contact to win five free kicks for the team.

It is the first time in 2026 that a Hounds player has won Player of the Week and the first such honor for Dikwa since 2023, his Golden Boot-winning season in his previous stint with the Hounds. Already with five goals on the season, Dikwa will be part of the USL Team of the Week for Week 7 — his third weekly honor this year — which will be announced by the league later this afternoon.

The Hounds are back home at 7 p.m. this Saturday, when they will host Greenville Triumph SC in their first group match of the 2026 Prinx Tires USL Cup.

‘Chromatic’ kits make on-field debut Saturday

PITTSBURGH (April 20, 2026) — Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will have the on-field debut of its “Chromatic” third jerseys, featuring Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania as the front-of-kit partner, in the team’s first match of the Prinx Tires USL Cup hosting Greenville Triumph SC this Saturday, April 25.

The jersey, manufactured by hummel, features the image of one of the city’s iconic bridges replicated in the multi-colored, screen-printed style of famed artist and Pittsburgh native Andy Warhol on front of the white jersey. First unveiled with the Hounds’ other kits in February, the Chromatic jerseys have been a hit with fans, selling out twice in pre-orders before more arrived in stock.

The debut of the jerseys also represents the next step in the relationship between Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania and the Hounds, which kicked off last year and connected Boys & Girls Club Kids to the game of soccer through accessible clinics in communities throughout the region. There are very few examples globally of a nonprofit organization serving as a primary jersey sponsor, and it reflects the community-oriented commitment of both Boys & Girls Clubs and the Hounds.

To celebrate the debut of the jerseys, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania will have a visible presence at the match, with Club Kids taking part in the pre-match ball delivery, singing the national anthem and taking part in halftime entertainment. They also will have a table in the stadium where families can learn more about programming offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs.

The Chromatic jerseys will be available for purchase at the match in the Riverhounds Team Store during the April 25 match. Fans who are unable to make it to the match will be able to see the jerseys in action for the first time by watching the 7 p.m. match locally on KDKA+ or streaming live via ESPN+.

RBNY to host Hounds in Open Cup

PITTSBURGH (April 2, 2026) — Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC’s path through the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup heads on the road for the Round of 32, as the Hounds will travel to face MLS side Red Bull New York on Wednesday, April 15.

The matchup was drawn this morning live during CBS Golazo Network’s “Morning Footy,” and it will be a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, N.J. The match will be streamed live on Paramount+.

It is the fourth consecutive year the Hounds are appearing in the Round of 32, one of only three teams to hold that distinction. The Hounds were the farthest-advancing team from outside MLS in two of the past three tournaments, reaching the 2023 Quarterfinals and the 2025 Round of 16.

The Hounds are 4-8 all-time against MLS opposition, but 3-2 in their past five such matches, including a win last season over New York City FC in the Round of 32. They have never faced Red Bull NY in the Open Cup, but they are not unfamiliar with Sports Illustrated Stadium — formerly Red Bull Arena — where they previously faced the club’s reserve team, New York Red Bulls II, when they were members of the USL Championship.

The winner of the Hounds/Red Bull match will face the winner between NYCFC and USL League One side Westchester SC in the Round of 16 on April 28-29. The Hounds would host if NYCFC advances, but they would be on the road should Westchester be the opponent.

Brace lands Dikwa on Team of the Week

PITTSBURGH (March 31, 2026) — Coming off a two-goal performance, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC forward Albert Dikwa was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 4, the league announced this afternoon.

Dikwa found the net on each side of halftime in the Hounds’ 3-2 win Saturday over Sporting Jacksonville, scoring from open play in the seventh minute and converting from the penalty spot in the 50th minute as the Hounds raced out to a 3-0 lead. The goals were his second and third of the season and bring his total in a Riverhounds jersey to 40 across all competitions, the second-most in club history.

In addition to the goals, Dikwa had one chance created and won possession a team-high sharing five times while also winning a pair of free kicks leading the line. It is Dikwa’s second Team of the Week honor already this season after landing on the league’s Best 11 four times in 2023, his last year with the Hounds when he won Championship Player of the Year.

Dikwa and the Hounds are back on the field tonight in the Second Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, when they will host Virginia Dream FC out of the UPSL at 7 p.m.

Hounds Academy welcomes AFFC players

PITTSBURGH (March 30, 2026) — The Pittsburgh Riverhounds Development Academy (RDA) will expand its presence in North Huntingdon by welcoming players and families from Allegheny Force Football Club (AFFC) into the Riverhounds pathway beginning with the 2026–27 season.

This transition reflects a shared commitment to providing players with the strongest possible developmental environment and long-term opportunities within the game.

“This is really about continuing to strengthen the player experience in North Huntingdon,” Riverhounds Sporting Director Dan Visser said. “AFFC has built a great community, and our focus is on honoring that while providing players and families with a clear pathway and a high-quality environment to continue their development.”

Players currently participating with AFFC will remain on their teams through the remainder of the current season. The transition into the RDA will take place ahead of the 2026–27 season, allowing for continuity and a smooth, well-supported process for all families.

The RDA, the official youth development arm of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Pittsburgh Riveters, is committed to delivering a professional, player-centered environment focused on long-term growth. This expansion reinforces that commitment in its existing North Huntingdon location, with an emphasis on coaching quality, development standards and overall experience.

“Our priority is to make this a positive and seamless transition,” Visser added. “We want AFFC families to feel welcomed, supported and confident in the environment their players are stepping into.”

PITTSBURGH (March 24, 2026) — With 69 years since the last Open Cup match between two Pittsburgh teams, an extra eight-day wait doesn’t seem that bad.

The Hounds begin their 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign with the first all-Pittsburgh matchup in the competition since 1957 when they host USL League Two side Steel City FC on Wednesday night at Highmark Stadium in a match that was postponed from March 17 due to heavy snow in the area.

This year’s edition of U.S. Soccer’s national championship began with a crowded First Round field, as the impending FIFA World Cup caused a shuffling of the format that started all teams outside of MLS in the opening round. That means the Hounds will have extra work to replicate their performance as the longest surviving team from outside the top flight in two of the past three years, when they reached the 2023 quarterfinals and the 2025 Round of 16.

That work begins with facing Steel City, a team that arose in 2021 from a merger between two long-established Western Pennsylvania youth clubs, Arsenal FC and Pittsburgh Hotspurs. The new club continued the senior men’s First Team that Hotspurs established in 2019, and in 2024, the team made its first Open Cup appearance. Steel City fell 1-0 at home to the Michigan Stars out of third-division NISA in that match played at Pitt’s Ambrose Urbanic Field, where many current Hounds, among them Robbie Mertz and Jackson Walti, were in attendance to support their fellow Pittsburgh side.

But this year, the Hounds and Steel City will clash head-to-head, and Hounds coach Rob Vincent has made it clear when speaking to the media that his team will put out a strong side geared toward winning the match. Coming off a disappointing 3-0 defeat on the road at the Tampa Bay Rowdies over the weekend, getting things back on track is priority No. 1 for the home side.

One has to go all the way back to the Eisenhower administration for the last matchup between two Pittsburgh-area teams in the Open Cup, then known as the National Challenge Cup. In the 1957 quarterfinals on Feb. 20, the Harmarville Hurricanes — the defending champion and last cup winner from Western Pa. — scored a 2-1 win over Bridgeville-based Morgan Strasser before going to to lose in the semifinal round over two legs.

Naturally, that also makes this the Hounds’ first-ever match against a Pittsburgh-area team, with their nearest previous opponent being the amateur Erie Commodores in 2018. The Hounds have advanced in their past five Open Cup matches against lower-division opponents, with their last upset coming on the road in 2017, 3-1 against a Chicago FC United side that featured future USL Championship standouts Mark Segbers and Tom Barlow.

The winner of the match, the last to be played in this year’s First Round, will host amateur side Virginia Dream — 2-1 winners over MLS Next Pro side Carolina Core — in the Second Round at 7 p.m. on March 31.

Tickets for Wednesday’s match, the Hounds’ first at home since winning the 2025 USL Championship title, are still available through Ticketmaster. The match will be streamed live via the U.S. Soccer YouTube channel, and the Hounds’ local partners at Radio Las Palmas, 92.9 FM HD2, will carry the Spanish-language radio broadcast.

Open Cup announces Second Round draw

PITTSBURGH (March 20, 2026) — U.S. Soccer has announced the pairings for the Second Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, handing the Pittsburgh Riverhounds a potential home match in the last round before MLS teams enter the competition.

The winner of the Riverhounds/Steel City FC First Round match, which was rescheduled and will be played this Wednesday, March 25, will host Virginia Dream out of the amateur National Premier Soccer League at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 31. Virginia Dream, based in Falls Church, Va., advanced to the Second Round with a 2-1 victory on the road yesterday at MLS Next Pro team Carolina Core FC.

The team to advance from that match will be entered in the draw for the Third Round, where the 16 winners and 16 MLS teams entering in that round will be paired for matches to be played April 14-15. The Hounds are 3-2 against MLS opponents since 2023, defeating the New England Revolution, Columbus Crew and New York City FC in the cup.

Tickets for the rescheduled First Round match are still on sale via Ticketmaster or by calling the Highmark Stadium Box Office at 412-865-GOAL. Tickets for the Second Round match will go on sale after completion of the the First Round match.
