PITTSBURGH (August 16, 2018) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (12-3-7) welcomes the Charlotte Independence (7-9-7) to Highmark Stadium for the first time this season on Saturday.
Suffering their first losing streak with two straight defeats at the end of July, the Hounds have responded emphatically with their second three-game winning streak of the year. A win on Saturday night would give Pittsburgh its first four-game winning streak since the 2015 season.
Doing so will take bucking a less than kind history against the Jacks, as the Hounds are 0-5-2 all-time against their Eastern Conference foe.
The Hounds will look to the recent hot stretches of play from three individuals in particular to continue their win streak. Forward Neco Brett leads the way, scoring five goals over a three-game scoring streak and is tied for second in the race for the Golden Boot. Midfielders Kenardo Forbes and Christiano François, meanwhile, have been key in distribution, serving up three and two assists, respectively, during this stretch.
Off the pitch, the Hounds will be hosting First Responders Night at Highmark Stadium. All active and retired first responders will receive one free ticket to the match in addition to discounted rates for their guests. To purchase, visit the link here – $5 of each ticket will go to the First Responders Children’s Foundation.
