PITTSBURGH (December 5, 2017) – Emily Harrigan and Delaney Snyder of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Development Academy 99-00 ECNL Girls have been named to the United Soccer Coaches Girls All-America Team for the fall 2017 season.
Announced earlier this week, the honor for Harrigan and Snyder marks the second straight year the Riverhounds Development Academy (RDA) has had two players earn All-America status – Bailey Cartwright and Aideen O’Donoghue in 2016.
“We are extremely proud of both the girls on such a wonderful achievement. Emily and Delaney have an outstanding drive and commitment to the game, and compliment each other so well in the RDA program,” Academy Director and 99-00 Girls head coach Scott Gibson said. “The support system from previous club and current high school coaches has been an integral part in the success of both, and we are excited to help contribute to their overall development.”
Both key members of the 99-00 Girls squad for the Hounds Academy, Harrigan and Snyder have also enjoyed considerable success playing for Norwin and Moon high schools, respectively, most recently capping off their careers with state titles this year. Harrigan has racked up an impressive scoring total of more than 80 goals in addition to multiple WPIAL titles, while Snyder holds her school’s scoring record of 107 goals and has been a part of multiple WPIAL and PIAA Class 3A championship teams.
Harrigan and Snyder will both continue their impressive playing careers in the college ranks with respective verbal commitments to Rutgers University and Miami (OH) University in 2018.
