PITTSBURGH (Sept. 10, 2026) — Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC has hired experienced coach and director José Campos to serve as Executive Director of the Riverhounds Academy, adding experienced leadership as the club continues to expand its youth development programs and player pathways.
Campos, 38, most recently served as the Academy Director at Orlando City SC, where he led the MLS team’s youth program for two and a half years. During his time with Orlando, the club produced more than 10 players who signed homegrown MLS or other professional contracts while placing more than a dozen more in the Orlando City B side in MLS Next Pro. Orlando also won three national titles during his tenure, including the organization’s first U18 Generation Adidas Cup crown in 2025.

A native of Sevilla, Spain, Campos previously held the role of Assistant Technical Director with Capelli Sport, a role in which he led North American talent identification for a multi-club ownership group to place players with professional sides in Germany, Denmark and England.
Campos also previously held positions with Street Soccer USA and with USL League Two club Lane United FC, during the latter of which he completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Oregon. He also holds a U.S. Soccer B Coaching License, as well as a B Coaching License and Sporting Director License with UEFA.
