PITTSBURGH (March 19, 2018) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC has officially announced Pittsburgh’s CW will partner with the club to broadcast select matches throughout the 2018 regular season.
Building off of last year’s initiative that saw the CBS-affiliate air three away dates, the television deal is the largest for the Hounds since the club took residence on the banks of the Monongahela River in 2013.
“We are thrilled to expand our relationship with Riverhounds SC this season and are happy to be able to provide our viewers with more access to exciting local professional soccer,” said Chris Pike, Vice President and General Manager of KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV.
In total, 16 matches are expected to be televised for the 2018 season – 11 road dates and five home games.
Among the highlights on the road include the Hounds’ season opener this Saturday, March 24 at expansion side Nashville SC at Nissan Stadium, as well as first-time visits to North Carolina FC on July 28 and Indy Eleven on Sept. 22. Home dates to be televised so far include the club’s home opener on March 31, as well as WQED Neighborhood Night on June 16. Further details on the three additional matches at Highmark Stadium to be televised will be provided at a later date.
Along with broadcasting matches, Pittsburgh’s No. 1 local sports department in CBS-KDKA will air Hounds highlights weekly on its channel, including segments on Nightly Sports Call with Bob Pompeani and Sports Showdown.
Fans are encouraged to check their local cable listings to ensure they won’t miss any of the action when the Hounds take to the pitch. For fans out of market, the live broadcasts will still be provided on the USL’s YouTube channel.

The start of the 2018 season is rapidly approaching for Riverhounds SC. Slated to kick off on March 24 at Nashville SC, the Hounds return for their home opener the following week against Penn FC on March 31.
