PITTSBURGH (August 9, 2018) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (11-3-7) puts its two-game winning streak on the line this Sunday, facing off against Bethlehem Steel FC (9-9-6) at 5 p.m. at Goodman Stadium.
The first meeting of the season between the two clubs, the Hounds are 2-2-2 all-time against their in-state foes. Pittsburgh has yet to capture victory at Goodman Stadium though, going 0-2-2 in four tries since 2016.
Both teams head into Sunday’s tilt on a roll, as in addition to the Hounds’ two-game win streak, Bethlehem has reeled off three straight victories, outscoring its opposition by a 10-to-1 margin during that stretch.
Additionally, Pittsburgh’s defense should expect to have its hands full, as only New York Red Bulls II (46) and FC Cincinnati (42) have scored more goals than Bethlehem (41) in the East to date.
The Hounds currently lead the league with 14 clean sheets and are only three off from officially recording a shutout in at least half of its regular season contests this year.
Fans hoping to catch Sunday’s match can watch live locally on Pittsburgh’s CW or stream the match on ESPN+. Up-to-the-minute stats can also be found on USL Match Center. In addition, the Hounds will be hosting a Watch Party at Smokin’ Joe’s Saloon in South Side for fans of age with drink and food specials including a free round of Hounds Ale after every Hounds goal and 45-cent wings. Festivities kick off at 4 p.m.
