PITTSBURGH (June 11, 2021) — The Riverhounds Development Academy has announced the squad selected for its inaugural matches in the USL Academy League, which commenced play earlier this month.
The Hounds, who will face Indy Eleven on Tuesday, June 15 at 2:30 p.m. and the Dayton Dutch Lions on Wednesday, June 16 at noon, have an 18-player squad selected from their 2002-05 age group teams that will be the first to represent the Hounds in the USL’s development initiative that includes clubs from the USL Championship, League One and League Two.
The side is composed of some of the best the RDA has to offer, but it also factors in USL Academy League minimums regarding age groups. In addition, prior player commitments, including internships and personal obligations during the summer, came into play as team selection was finalized.
The Hounds will have three home USL Academy matches at home in July, and selection for those matches will be finalized closer to the match dates.
Making up the Hounds’ first USL Academy League side are:
Goalkeepers: Kaelan Matacastillo, Dylan Janoski
Defenders: Ryan Edwards, Drew Kemper, Matty Lucas, Oliver Daboo, Nick Inhat, Nick Allan
Midfielders: Ben Feinstein, Ethan Gregory, Milo Larson, Will Sangpachatanaruk
Forwards: Sam Farner, Caden Carpenter, Wyatt Borso, Johnny Krug, DiDi Flowers, Anders Bordoy
