PITTSBURGH (Feb. 21, 2024) — Today, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC unveiled their CHARLY Home and Away Kits featuring Allegheny Health Network returning as the Home Kit sponsor and 84 Lumber returning as the Away Kit sponsor.
“We are excited to see our partnership with CHARLY take off and for fans to get their first look at our 2024 kits,” Riverhounds President Jeff Garner said. “By working with CHARLY, we have been able to customize and create uniforms that we feel are unique to our team, and that also represent the identity of our club while capturing the look of the City of Pittsburgh.”
The 2024 Pittsburgh Riverhounds “Three Rivers” Home Kit is all black and features a yellow bridge running from the bottom right to the upper left underneath the CHARLY insignia. This bridge is reminiscent of the many bridges located throughout the City of Pittsburgh, crossing the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers and connecting the city’s diverse neighborhoods. The city skyline is also depicted on the front side of the jersey, mirroring the view from the Riverhounds’ home field at Highmark Stadium.
In contrast to the black base of the 2024 Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC Home Kit, the “Steel” Away Kit features a classic Pittsburgh yellow and a steel plate pattern across the jersey that reflects the city’s rich history as an industrial hub. It also features a traditional horizontal gray line that runs through the chest and the sleeves.
“For me, this is more than a sponsorship. My grandfather was born outside of Pittsburgh, which made me a massive fan of the city before the Riverhounds opportunity presented itself,” said CHARLY USA Managing Director Jason Wells. “This city’s commitment to their teams is like no other, and our mission at CHARLY is to show the same level of passion that Riverhounds fans do and deliver something unique that will separate the club. We wanted to honor the fan commitment to buying jerseys by capturing and displaying something only the Pittsburgher can relate to.”
The kits were unveiled and jerseys were available for purchase for the first time at the team’s exclusive Kit Reveal this evening at the Senator John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. After the event, the jerseys will be available to buy online through the Riverhounds Team Store at 9 p.m. EST.
The away kits will debut during the season opener against New Mexico United at 4 p.m. EST on March 9, 2024. The team will take the pitch in the new home kits against Orange County SC at 7 p.m. EST on March 16, 2024.
