PITTSBURGH (Aug. 30, 2023) — Fans won’t need to worry about missing any late-season USL Championship action, as Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC matches will remain on the air in the Pittsburgh market as our local broadcast partner transitions to its new branding as KDKA+.
The channel, formerly known as Pittsburgh’s CW, will no longer be affiliated with the CW Network and will begin broadcasting on September 1 as KDKA+. It will remain on Channel 19 over the air and in its same position on local cable providers, while the station’s call letters will change to WPKD-TV.
The changes will not affect the partnership between the Hounds and the station, which this year became the local home of the Hounds. KDKA+ will carry four of the final six regular-season matches live, starting with the Saturday, Sept. 9 match against Loudoun United FC, in addition to coverage through the USL Championship Playoffs beginning in October.
In addition to the live broadcast over the air, fans in the Pittsburgh market will still be able to stream the match broadcast live through the KDKA website.
