PITTSBURGH (June 19, 2017) – The Pittsburgh Riverhounds are proud to announce Allegheny Health Network will host the “Health Series” at Highmark Stadium in conjunction with five matches this season.
Presented by the official and exclusive medical service provider of the Hounds, the Health Series is designed to educate fans and generate awareness about a range of health topics including heart disease prevention, pediatric orthopaedic and concussion awareness, prostate and cancer awareness, and ways to live a healthy life and avoid injury.
The series kicks off this Thursday, June 22 for Heart Healthy Night, as the Hounds host the Tampa Bay Rowdies. AHN will have on hand a 20-foot inflatable heart for fans to walk through, while also providing the opportunity to engage with Medical Director of the AHN Cardiovascular Institute, Dr. Srinivas Murali, who will be delivering the game ball prior to kickoff.
“As a health system that takes great pride in providing our patients with high-quality care that gives them the best possible outcomes and quality of life, Allegheny Health Network is pleased to partner with the Riverhounds for this Health Series,” Murali said.
“Personally, I am looking forward to participating in the activities at Thursday’s game. Our giant, inflatable heart allows people to step inside the human heart and see how blood flows through it. Inside, you also can learn about heart disease and common treatments. And what better place to experience this than at one of the most rigorous cardiovascular workouts any team sport requires, a soccer match?”
Each AHN Health Series date will include an interactive exhibit, a top-tier physician on hand in the field of practice and a promotional giveaway for fans in attendance.
