The Riverhounds organization remembers Stanislaw “Stan” Terlecki for his great contributions to soccer in the city of Pittsburgh. A legendary scorer in the Major Indoor Soccer League for many years, Terlecki was a can’t-miss draw at the old Civic Arena during the heyday of the Pittsburgh Spirit in the 1980s.
The Polish striker spent four seasons with the Spirit, scoring an incredible, and franchise record, 184 goals across 150 appearances. Terlecki’s goal-scoring ways earned him co-MVP honors during the 1982 season.
Terlecki, who passed away today in his native Poland at the age of 62, played soccer professionally for more than 20 years, including scoring seven goals in 29 appearances for the Poland National Team from 1976-80.
The Riverhounds organization sends its thoughts and prayers to the Terlecki family during this difficult time.
