PITTSBURGH (June 14, 2018) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (5-1-6) returns to action after an off week to battle New York Red Bulls II (5-3-5) at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Highmark Stadium.
This will be the first meeting between the Hounds and Red Bulls II this season. Pittsburgh holds a 1-1-1 all-time record against New York in games at Highmark Stadium.
The Hounds have showed great success at Highmark Stadium this year, holding a 3-1-3 home record to date. Riverhounds SC notched a shutout in six of these seven games and has conceded only one goal at home in 2018.
Meanwhile, New York has struggled on the road. Red Bulls II holds a 0-2-4 record away from its home venue and has been shut out in its past three road matches in league play.
Despite its recent road numbers, Red Bulls II has exhibited one of the best offenses in the USL throughout the 2018 campaign. As it leads the league in total shots (224) and ranks second in goals (25) after Week 13 action, New York will challenge a stout Pittsburgh backline. The Hounds have allowed only 0.58 goals per game to date, which is on pace for the best mark in club history.
For WQED Neighborhood Night, the 50th Anniversary celebration of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” will come to Highmark Stadium this Saturday. The night will be filled with family-friendly fun, including a chance to dress like Mister Rogers or another PBS character for a chance to win a special prize pack. Picture opportunities with fan favorites, such as Daniel Tiger, will be available, and the trailer for the biopic “You Are My Friend,” starring Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers, will be aired at halftime.
In addition, Allegheny Health Network (AHN), the official medical provider of Riverhounds SC, will present Prostate Awareness Night as part of its season-long Health Series. AHN will present children in attendance with a special Father’s Day coloring card and men the opportunity to learn more about the prostate cancer services it offers.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased at www.riverhounds.com.
