PITTSBURGH (October 2, 2018) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC defender Hugh Roberts has been named to USL Team of the Week after helping the club complete a two-game unbeaten road swing, including clinching a playoff spot and the Keystone Derby Cup, presented by K&L Gates and the Pennsylvania Lottery.
Roberts played an integral role across a win in Harrisburg and a draw against Charlotte, recording 17 clearances, as well as the assist on the game-tying goal in stoppage time against the Independence. The center back has been a steadying presence for Pittsburgh’s backline, leading the team with 13 blocks and ranking second in both clearances (117) and interceptions (56).
The weekly honor marks the third time Roberts has made the league’s best XI and the 14th time overall a Hound has been named to USL Team of the Week.
Next up on the pitch for the Hounds is the regular season home finale this weekend against FC Cincinnati at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Highmark Stadium.
