Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (2-2-6) takes on Ottawa Fury FC (6-2-3) at 7 p.m. this Saturday at Highmark Stadium. The Fury carry a six-game unbeaten streak into the match with Pittsburgh, grabbing wins in four of those matches.
The Season So Far
Ottawa has had a pretty successful opening to its 2019 slate. With 21 points, the club is currently the fourth best team in the Eastern Conference. The Fury are coming off a dominant 4-1 victory over the Charlotte Independence at TD Place Stadium.
Players To Watch
Striker Mour Samb leads the club in scoring with six tallies this season. Samb has managed to convert on six of his ten total shots on target, with five of his goals coming off of the left foot.
In goal this season, Callum Irving and David Monslave have split time. Irving has earned three clean sheets on the year, and Monslave has one of his own as well. The duo has combined for 28 saves, allowing only nine goals in 2019.
Strength – Scoring Depth
The Fury have a number of different players they can rely on to find the back of the net. Christiano François, Kévin Oliveira and Wal Fall are all tied for second in goals, behind Samb, with three apiece. A total of six different players have scored for Ottawa this season.
Weakness – Shot Volume
Despite ranking seventh in the Eastern Conference in goals, the Fury have the fourth fewest total shots in the conference. The club definitely makes the most of the shot opportunities it gets, but at times it has struggled to create chances.
