Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (2-2-6) will host Ottawa Fury FC (6-2-3) at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Highmark Stadium. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Ferocious Fury
Ottawa brings in a loaded attacking group with a number of dangerous scoring threats. Mour Samb leads the club in goals (six) and is tied for third in the Eastern Conference in the category. Christiano François, Kévin Oliveira and Wal Fall are all tied for second in tallies on the team with three goals apiece.
Homecoming at Highmark
As mentioned above, former Hound François has settled in with the Fury. François spent the 2018 campaign with the Hounds, starting in 28 of the club’s 32 games. He finished his lone season with the Black and Gold with four goals and five assists.
In 11 appearances so far with Ottawa, François has recorded three goals and three assists.
Hungry for Points
The Hounds have been held without a win in their last five matches. With 12 points on the season, Pittsburgh currently ranks 13th in the Eastern Conference. The chance to grab three points at home on Saturday would do wonders for the Black and Gold in their push to climb the Eastern Conference standings.
By the Numbers: 200
A win on Saturday would give Riverhounds SC its 200th overall victory (league, postseason and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup games) in franchise history.
Key to Victory: Neutralize the Attack
With as much offensive talent as Ottawa has, it will be crucial for the Hounds to tighten up on the backline. The Fury average just under five shots on target per game, but carry a 16.7 percent conversion rate on offensive chances. If the Hounds can limit Ottawa’s loaded attack, they should be able to grab a victory this weekend.
