PITTSBURGH (February 10, 2020) – Sarah Schupansky of the Riverhounds Development Academy (RDA) has been invited to participate in an ECNL National Selection Game this Saturday, Feb. 15 in Spring, Texas.
ECNL National Selection Games are a part of the league’s player identification platform and provide an opportunity for top players to further develop and compete among each other. The top 2003/2004 girls in the ECNL are selected to take part in this game.
“I’m really excited to represent the Riverhounds Development Academy,” Schupansky said. “It’s a big thing to play along some of the best girls in the country. This is a really great opportunity.”
Schupansky is a member of the RDA 2003 ECNL Girls team. The North Allegheny junior has verbally committed to the University of Pittsburgh.
“We are delighted for Sarah, and it’s fully deserved,” Academy Director and Schupansky’s RDA coach Scott Gibson said. “Sarah is the captain of our 2003 ECNL team and leads by example in every single training session and game. She is a very talented player and goal threat, and her commitment and work-rate are second to none. It’s great for the RDA that we have our second player this season to represent the club in this prestigious selection game. We will be there to cheer her on.”
This will mark the second RDA player to be invited to participate in an ECNL National Selection Game this year, as Tessa Dellarose competed in one this past January.
